#3178, "New Project"

Inspired by a Flick Ford book I saw at Barnes & Noble I decided to design, carve, & paint a swimbait to the very best of my ability. Here are the results so far. It's going to be a bluegill chasing another bluegill. I turned the lure from jellutong wood. I then carved in the gills in relief (approx. 1/8" raised). You can't reammy see this in the pictures. I'm using Jansen's paint (popular with duck decoy carvers for durability).
Currently, I'm waiting for the glass taxidermy eyes, the hardware, and the owner 2/0 hooks to come in the mail.
I'm excited for the end results. Hopefully I will be able to trade/sell it.

Thanks for looking.
