A few people have emailed me about my boat (Kyle swimbaitfisherman Cook these pics are for you, you didn't leave an email address man). So I finally got around to taking a few pics and here 'tis:

I'm still working on the aeration for the cooler and thinking of a better way to hide the wiring. Its a start. I'll do my best to update later when I get the cooler aeration completed.

your boat looks great dude. That thing is a big fish huntin machine.

I like the trailer and the spare tire setup as well.

Rob,

Just read your article on jiggin'...& then this. I really like the boat, shows thought & experience in the layout. How does this boat do at Clearlake? My in-laws just moved up there, & I'm looking for a rig that doesn't cost an arm & a leg, & that I can tow with my Pathfinder. Your boat (& your fishing record) just go to show you don't need a $40,000 60 mph boat to put fish in the well.

Hats off to ya!

ps. I'm just up in San Leandro if you ever want a 'hitchiker'! :P

I've taken this boat to clear lake once, back when I had my 5hp. It took about 45 minutes to go from lakeport to Rodman lol. With the 15hp, and just me in the boat with a medium amount of gear, the boat runs about 25mph. With two people it probably slows down to 15-18mph.

Last weekend I took the boat out on Berryessa and ran from Cappell Cove to the dam and back. That was my first real test on a bigger lake with a lot of chop and wakes and I thought the boat took it well. I fished Pedro quite a bit earlier this year and it was fine then too, although the weather was never really that bad.

I assume you've seen Clear lake when it's nasty... and I would not recommend being out there in this boat then, but it would be fine for calmer days or up on the North end of the lake. If its April and it's blowing and the narrows are huge, no way. Hope that helps :)

Thanks. That's about what I thought...I don't anticipate ever going out in bad weather...but...I've gone out a nice morning or two, only to have to (try to) outrun bad weather on the way in...

On a side note, I got my 1st jig bass off the pier at Redbud Sat. afternoon. Let's not talk about size...

It's a 15 footer. The model names on the jon boats usually refer to length and width, so 1546 means 15' long and 46" wide. Good bit of info to know when checking out boats :)
