Thanks for a great time my B-N-T Broe's. I started outside of the key each morning and caught my first keeper each morning. Saturday the first fish was a speed trap, char/blue back. Then I went into the keys and found the fishing slow in the canal I like, but I worked hard and caught my limit for 16+. My big fish was while fan casting a Ofspray in light hitch. Surprised the heck out of me. The rest of my fish came flipping a sweet beaver in green pumpkin. I did catch one on a Beno bug pitched in 4 inchs of water.
Day 2 caught my first fish outside of the keys on a money minow under the same dock my day #1 speed trap fish came from. I pounded the dock each day, but it would only give up one fish a day for me. Then it was back to my keys canal. Once again I had to work hard for my limit, but I was glad to get it. I only weighed in 10 pounds and some change on day # 2, but I lost two solid fish. One snapped me off on the trap and another came unbuttoned flipping. If I had landed these two fish I think I would have came home with a little more money.
The weather was great and the chicken from the Red & White store was great too. Once again my thanks go out to Mitch, tyler, paul and the rest of you bass fishing nut that make all this possable for us other bass heads. Congrats to my partner Jon on his first and forsure not his last win. Two things in life I would like, SCBBBC AOY and to win a B-N-T Open. I'm already looking forward to seeing you guys next year. I did miss my buddies from Shasta. 2009 B-N-T Open was a blast! Thanks again. Rich
