Just had an idea. Since I go to Kaweah about once per week in my tube, I thought I would give a quick report every time just for the heck of it. There are a few people that fish this lake occasionally and perhaps this would help them out. I know the Fresno Bee's report doesn't do me much good so I figure this might help. Besides it might help me just by acting as a record for myself to help me improve my own fishing.

4/16/05- Lake is about 2/3 full and has held steady for the last two weeks. Temp is a little warmer as my feet stayed warm the entire time with only 3mm waders and one pair of socks. Got on the water from the west dock at about 9:15am in my Fishcat. Used #8 green Izorline Platinum line with 1/0 hooks on a 6'6"medium spincaster and same on 6'6"mh baitcaster. Fished live crawlers, dark gray smoke Senkos with black flake, burnt orange 6" Illusion worm, 4" Storm curl tail minnow shiner color, and a red plastic crawdad with black flake all around the Marina and the west side of the lake. Got one decent (1lb) catfish on the crawler about 1pm on the west side of the marina and that was the only action whatsoever. Saw nobody else catching either. Weather was great- in the low eighties with an occasional breeze but for the most part a perfect day weatherwise.
