The club voted for it for the exact reason Andy mentioned. It does help keep everything in check and makes for us guys who get married (and force a couple people to go to my wedding! }( ) a chance for both AOY and TOC.

This was the first year I have missed a tournament ever and would be throughly disappointed if I was not able to shoot for AOY. This at least gives me a chance :+

Besides Dani, if you look at other circuits (ABA for example) they have the 5 best out of 6 for their team events and I'm sure the reasons Andy and I have mentioned above are part of the reasons.

Oh, another point is for the guys/gals who are able to fish ALL the tournaments, they have a HUGE advantage from those of us who miss a tournament due to getting 1 or 2 opportunities to be doing better! If you were shooting for AOY or TOC and you knew your top competition couldn't make it, why wouldn't you think of it as an advantage?
