Thanks to Bass-N-Tubes for letting me fish with you guys. I had a blast on Sunday and can't wait to do it again.

I almost didn't get out of bed Sunday morning but I'm glad I did (sorry IFISH). I had planned to try to copy Robert Lee and use tubes and zipper worms but just started tossing the brushhog that I still had tied on from last weekend at Rancho Seco. Got my smallest fish right across from the weigh-in spot near some tules, a little over 1 pound. I was glad I wasn't gonna smell the skunk. A few minutes later I broke off a fish on the hookset at the end of a tule point. Crap!! While I tied on another brushhog I kinda blocked off the spot as Tim Crane floated past me. On my next cast to the same spot I hook up with a nice 6+ and I am stoked. Just past 7:00 and I've got 2 fish. Not a thing for the next 2 hours. Then it clears up and the rain stops. I hook up again with a 2 pounder in some deep water right up against another tule point, also on the brushhog. In the same spot I also get a dink on a 5" senko that isn't much bigger than the senko. Then the wind starts to blow like crazy and fishing isn't very easy for the next 2+ hours. At this point I'm SO glad I am upwind of the weigh-in spot cause it is blowing hard. At 1:30 I get lucky. I am letting my brushhog sit on the bottom a few feet off some tules and reach over to shake up my fish in my livewell. I get a bite and a lousy one-handed hookset. After some hard pulling I lip a nice fish and the hook falls in my lap. The hook had rooted out a big hole in the soft part of its upper lip and it could have easily come off. I put it on my scale and it says 7.5 lbs. Yes!! At this point I think I have 15 or 16 pounds and I need one more fish to have a chance. I run into Nick (IFISH) and he says he has 4 fish with 1 nice one and nobody else has much. We both think that Darce will bring back a big sack and win. At 2:30 I get one more fish that no matter how hard I try will not go longer than 12.5 inches. I'm pleased with my effort especially considering the crappy weather. I weigh in 4 fish for 17-02 and win. If not for Castro's 9-05 toad I would have had big fish too. This was only my third tournament ( I fished in 2 delta region events last year ) but I might be hooked.

Thanks again guys. I would also like to join B-N-T but since I live in Sacto I can't come to San Jose for any meetings. I am already a member of BASS.
