One called 'United Sportsmen' or something like that? I put up a post on NCBF to see if someone there can remind me of the post I saw on their Forum awhile back.

Of course, while it's nice to know that there are certain groups fighting back, it's a little disconcerting to see in the ESPN article that *nearly half* of the 50 states already have a fishing ban in their state parks!

These PETA people are pretty relentless, and it's not hard to imagine them getting a good foothold when no one's looking, and the next thing you know, they're turning us back at the gates at some of our favorite lakes!!!! If it's not the anti-fishing folks, it's those anti-POLLUTION extremists (CARB???) that are gonna worm their fascist ideas into our state & local legislation, & we're not even gonna be able to DRIVE BY our favorite 'watering holes'! (Don't even get me GOING on the 'anti-TERRORIST' measures they're trying to drop on us!).

All I can say is: be afraid, be VERY afraid! These groups are insidious and crafty, & they have a way of sneaking in their political objectives in a very back-door kind of way, and you don't know your freedoms are being impinged upon until they're GONE!!! (You remember how the MTBE fiasco was forced upon us??!!).

As 'kasekilla' suggests, it might be a good idea to donate to one of these local PETA-resistance groups, if not only with $$'s, maybe also with some of your TIME. Maybe a Bass-n-Tubes/SCBBBC club donation is the way to go, as he says!

In any case, we can't afford to let down our guard with these pesky groups! I don't think they ever SLEEP, for Christ's sake!
