Don't know what to tell you Bob. I thought that 30lb was really going to be great and at first it seemed pretty good. It just didn't pan out that great. May as well try it for yourself and see how it goes in the ocean. As long as it doesn't hit a rock with an edge on it, it should be ok and since you're using a leader it will probably be out of the rocks most of the time.
