#2167, "So what is the real (current) deal on Mexican bass lake..."

OK... I know that these lakes have a lot of nice fish, and on a few really good days, they do kick out some big numbers of big fish.....

But I keep hearing about trips in which the numbers and weights are no better than what I can do at Clear Lk. Ca on tiny live dads from March through October ???

And for really big fish (top end) ? I hear about a 13 to 15 lb Mexican bass now and then....... but I hear about (and catch) fish like those from Bay area trout lakes.

Now don't get me wrong, I understand there are other reasons to spend that much money and travel that far. I'm sure a lot of guys would have fun just making the journey.

But anyway, do you guys think the fishing down there is just generally "so much better" than it could ever be North of the border, as to be worth $1000 to $2000 ???

Hmmmmm,
Fish

PS, I have heard that while the numbers have fallen way off for Lk. Baccarac nowadays (the original Mexican trophy bass lake), the top end size, as might be expected, has actually risen ! I think that might be where I would want to try.......

PPS, In any case, I don't believe the new WRB will come from Mexico.
