#9801, "Deep Hole To BKR 5/24"

Launched out of Channel Islands harbor yesterday morning with my buddies Dave and Ian, and south to the Deep Hole. We got there and the condition looked great! clean green water, 58degrees, and tons of down hill current! only the bite was picky at best, so we scratched around for a frew hours and started working our way down to the BKR, once we got below Leo Carillo the current went slack and a the water had a red tide tinge to it, and it stayed like that all the way down to the BKR, where the fishies didnt want to play either. So back to the Deep Hole for nothing! There is tons of bait, and tons of fish on all the spots, so just a matter of time!
Finals: 20 legal mixed bass with calicos to 41/2 lbs and sandies to 3lbs. Very few shorts and bycatch? Most of the fish were caught on 5-6in Big Hammers with reds and browns being the better colors....Larry

P.S. I realized what our problem was at about 1:00 when Ian went to eat his lunch, he offered us bannanas!!!! (rookie to private boating

Real fish are measured in pounds - not inches!
