After donuts and starbuck's french roast, 14 of surf fishing's finest decended upon Aliso beach and found a building south swell whomping the beach. This made us trek to the north end to mellower waters. The water is still freezing and those in waders were happy they wore them (I was not one of them unfortunately). The big surf made corbina fishing a no go but a few perch were still willing to bite the big hammer grubs. Most everyone caught at least one with a few folks landing several BSPs (again, I was not one of them, sheesh). There were sand crabs present but they were micro units. Overall, a fun time with many fishing the grubs for the first time.
