#725, "August 17, S.B. Harbor"

I met Daniel and his dad at Marina 1 for some night fishing tonight for seabass. I guess the seabass have been coming up under the lights at night at Marina 1. I got there at 8 and by 10:30 had 8 small sandbass and a rockfish. The sandie bite was pretty wide for about 15 minutes there. Well, at around 10:30 harbor patrol pulls up with dfg and they check us for licenses and check my bag for illegal fish. Daniel and his dad didn't have their licenses on them but he let em off with a warning after a bunch of ass kissing. Then Harbor Patrol took all our names and checked ID and said we were "trespassing". Apparently there's some sign at the gate that says you have to know somebody who's ON a boat in the harbor to be there, unless you own a boat there. So, he let us off with a warning too. It's all kind of ridiculous because you can fish the same exact spot in a float tube with no BS. What a pain in the arss.
