#9649, "Irvine bass 5/8"

Went to Irvine on friend Al's boat from 630 to 1230 (not Al from Als baits--lol). We were excited about the wide open potential with the weather from the last few days but the actual front that blew through messed up the fish. There was virtually no reaction bait bite. We really didn't want to go worming but had to. Water was 62 to 64.6 and it was pretty windy all day, first SE, then SW, then W. It drizzled on and off thru out the time we were there. Al got bored and got a 2# trout on a spoon--bassing was that spotty. Water is way, way up but looked ike it actually dropped a foot recently as evidenced by the wet watermark on the cliffs--hmmmmm? That probably messed up the fish too. We ended up with 11 or 12 I think. Kinda tough and cold today.
