can anyone recommend a decent place to go flyfishing that i may be able to catch something and still practice my casting. i just got a flyfishing rod and reel. i don't have a float tube or waders yet but would like to try my luck from shore. any thoughts, comments, recommendations..... just started reading this board.... you guys seem pretty cool and dedicated.

i live in Cerritos, and would be willing to drive some distance in the so cal area.
