#8113, "sonar advice"

I have a friend who is in the market for a new fishfinder. He has been looking at the Lowrance and Furuno units. What are the advantages and disadvantages of getting a color unit from Lowrance or Furuno? I remember when Lowrance first came out with their color units some of the guys I talked with were not that pleased with them but it appears as though a lot of progress has been made with them. Why would someone choose a color unit over the traditional black and white units? Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
