**edit for pic**
Brian #'s 1 and 2 and I hit Casitas for the duration yesterday. We were at the gate when it opened and off the water when it closed. We were dedicated to throwing swimbaits all day and we certainly got a lot of casting practice in.
The morning started cold and foggy as we lobbed out our various trout offerings. Nothing happening until the sun came out and we had a few 2 to 5lb follows on some small points and stickups. Brian #1 throws out into some sticks with a 9" Slammer and one busts on it. He hooks up, but the fish immediately gets stuck in the sticks and goes into a surface thrashing dance. Brian said it was 4 or 5lbs but it looked bigger to me. Unfortunately it got off in the sticks.
Not too long after that Brian #2 hooks one close to the boat on a 9" Osprey and that one comes in for a picture. It was a 3 and a half pound type fish. So it wasn't a great bite but we were getting some action in the AM. Unfortunately though after that it really shut off. I had 3 fish come up and bump my Generic Swimbait but they weren't eating it, it was just the tap tap nothing bite.
We fished out the rest of the day heaving and hucking. One thing that was really cool was that twice we saw bass come up busting on a trout. In all my days on the water, I've never seen that happen before. Both times we threw out but didn't hook up. Can't beat the real thing I guess.
Overall a fun day, although the conditions were less than desirable, hot and calm all day. I keep throwing my Generic Swimbaits and I can't wait to get back to the bay area to throw them some more. There are several lakes and conditions up there where these baits are going to work really well. I picked up some of the latest pours from Scott and they are swimming really well.
