#6653, "Yucaipa Regional Park 11-6-02"

Today was a trip to try out a few things. I wasn't really expecting much out there, but tried some new products I was given to test. I got to the lakes around 12:30 and went right to the middle lake.

Right by the spillway there was a little school, but I kept getting bit short, so I went to the other side. Over there was just the same, so I walked around the middle lake, and no one else had any fish.

I then walked to the bottom lake, and let me tell you this. It was a waste of time! Sunday there was some schools, but today there was nothing! Not one person was fishing the lake either. I was hoping to find a school all to myself, but none.

I finished the day at the middle lake, and still kept getting bit short. At the end of the day I finished with 4 trout. 2 on mini-jigs, and 2 on trout worms. It wasn't that it was slow, but the fish were biting very short, and wanted a very very very slow retrieve.

Tight Lines,
Jason Huckeba
