Of course I got wood, I just woke up! No really, I got a bass on the wood yesterday! Yes, a solid 3lber on the 9" Slammer. Not the 13lber I was looking for, but hell, I'll take it.

I fished Laguna Niguel Lake with my dad. I threw the wood almost all day. Tons of trout fishermen, so many it was difficult to fish. People lined up on the shorelines, boats trolling, and float tubers kicking. Lots of kids out fishing, good on them.

I was reeling the Slammer parrallel to the tules between the island and the south shore. Wham! The fish crushed it from the side. Hooked him very well.

On side note, I went to Angler's Marine on Saturday and chewed the fat. Pretty cool. Talked to Dean Rojas, Bob Simmons, Brent Ehrler, ##### Watson, Dave Mitchell, and a few others. I saw Jimmy Houston and Shaw Grigsby speak too. Shaw gets an A for entertainment, an F for content and organization...holy smokes what a scatter brain! Telling fish story after fish story, then a hunting story, then back to sight fishing, then joke with Jimmy Houston, Presidential campaign joke, fish story, a "Goodness Gracious", and oh yeah..site fishing.

Jimmy Houston, was a bit more organized and to the point. Still most of these things are catered to novice anglers or adults with kids. Oh well, business is business.
