#5886, "Prado 9/26"

My friend brandon and I went out to prado today in the afternoon for a couple hours. To start out, We got through the gate fine with the canoe but when we were launching it the ranger came up and said that we werent supposed to be launching any boats due to the low water and exposed rocks and stuff that could damage a boat. He said since we already had it in the water that we could go ahead but warned us it was our call. The water is only down about a foot now so most of the shoreline cover is fishable and there was nothing dangerous along the shoreline that could damage the boat that i could see. We started out fishing some spinnerbaits and jigs that i had recently made. No bites on the jigs but the spinnerbaits were producing around fallen trees. It was getting really windy and hard to fish without a trolling motor so we decided to anchor up on a midlake drop off that goes from about 8 feet down to 13 quickly. I was using carolina rigged 4" curlytail worms, but only caught a couple little dinks. Biggest fish was about 2lbs on a 3/8 spinnerbait with a black/red/white skirt. Im happy with what i caught because i havent been bass fishing all summer and i was a little rusty.
