#583, "Castaic Again!!!"

Hi everyone!

A Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I wanted to get back on here and post my latest report from Castaic. I was up there again on Thanksgiving morning. Again another day of casting practice...I guess that's fishing though... I was out there by 6:15am. Pretty close to the front of the line. Got in by 6:30am and this time took a few friends with me. We started on the Dam side of the main ramp and spent the first couple hours there. Without anything at all happening on the dam, we headed to the other side of the ramp walking along the water line and seeing not only the trout but also the largemouth bass hanging out just outside of the trout! Well, we ended up fishing the right side of the marina for about two more hours and called it a day. There were a couple of fish hooked that morning but there was only one fish that was actually brought in. I guess you just have to be in position as early as possible. As I was fishing the dam side, I talked to a few people who said they had fished the day before and did catch a few fish. One was 17lbs! That guy actually caught that fish at the west ramp even though the trout plant was at the main ramp??? The locals there said that this plant was less productive than the others in the last couple of months. There wasn't much action. No matter what, I'm still going back to fish the bruisers again! I know there's one out there with my name on it. I think that's the most important thing to remember. You just have to fish it, and fish it, and fish it until you get that bite!

For any of you who are interested, the trout were plentiful! If you're looking for trout...Castaic may be a good choice for you!

Good luck and Good fishing!!!!!

Darin
