My neighbor Aaron and I fished Puddingstone tonight from 6 to 10 near the launch and the swimming zone. I had planned on fishing the swimbaits and pointers today but the weeds were so bad I had to switch to a jig and senko. I fished those until the sun began to go down and then put the Hammer back on my jig fishing rod because the trout were going nuts. I had some nice bites on the swimbait but nothing was sticking. I think Rob is right about using the more flexible rods for freshwater swimbaiting. I finally landed one that was about 2#. By then Aaron caught 3 trout on kastmasters and it was dark. Very slow for the rest of the night but I did manage a couple of rats on a brown worm, YUCK! Aaron must have had 10 short bites on the Yamamoto grub that just tore the tail off.
