Managed to get a little time (a couple hours) on the local lakes both Saturday and Sunday and only caught one bass (1 lb. 10 ounces) on a jig. It was nice to finally land a fish, after missing my last four via the jig.
Eldo water has been extra clear. The clearest I've ever seen it and plenty of fish have been close to shore. Lots of fishing pressure as usual at the lakes (Easter was a zoo), but I didn't see anyone catching fish - although everyone I asked said they had landed some... Actually did see a guy catch two on live dads.
This was the first jig fish I caught - bouncing it along the bottom about 15-20 feet off the shore. My previous jig fish had come shortly after the initial flip near structure... this was more open water, but in an area I have seen bass before. I was pretty stoked to catch a jig fish via this method.
Lots of guys using jerk baits lately... watched one guy have a nice fish chase his bait, but didn't strike.
