Thanks for sharing your fluke rigging. I just fished Santa Margarita this evening and on my third cast, a crazy, plump 3.3 pounder went berzerk on my super fluke. I fished it just as you said, with shad colored (grey/white). That's all I caught though. I nearly got two others by sight fishing...males that were protecting their nests. They were defending against sunfish and small bass which I believe were trying to steal some eggs or newly hatched bass. Maybe I should try those "baby bass" colored super flukes? I'm used to using plastic worms fished real slow, and those bites are usually a lot less explosive.
