Summer came up to the lake with me today in the afternoon. It was overcast and rained a little bit during the day but nothing major. We fished our way towards the back of the lake and it was slow for the first hour or so. For whatever reason there were 4 or 5 boats back in by the dam which I thought was weird but we didn't catch any back there. Making a move to the swimming pool cove I caught 2 fish about 5 minutes apart on a crankbait with one about 2lb and the other about 2 and 3/4. They hit hard despite the cool water. Summer wasn't fishing today but she took some great photos which you can check out below. We worked our way slowly back towards the marina and after a bit I tied on the old 5 inch fish trap swimbait and first cast connected with another decent fish but it came up and jumped and I lost it. Next little point I landed another one about 2 and a half on the swimbait. By then it was raining a little more so we took off at 5pm. Another pretty solid winter day at Margarita.
