#16379, "Castaic-Stripers"

Anyone that is looking to catch some stripers needs to head up to Castaic. The bite has been good for the past month but with the cloud cover it’s been red hot. I hit it up on 07/30/06 with my son and a friend and had no problem getting our three limits. As luck would have it the Elderberry buoy line was broken so everyone was fishing inside next to the dam. My son had so much fun. You could throw in any direction and you were instantly on. We actually caught about 80 fish to 6 pounds. Nothing big, But a lot of fun. We also managed to catch some really nice largemouth in Elderberry. The stiper bite slowed down after we started letting fish go. I had a stiper about 20 pounds boil on a little dink I was reeling in. It was pretty cool.
