#15647, "Castaic Lagoon and a second hand Pyramid report"

the plan was to leave for pyramid at 5am in the morning. i woke up called my friend about 10 times, filled up gas called a few more times and just gave up on the idea of waking him up... so i decided to go to Castaic lagoon and throw a 9" MS Slammer. I fished near the CSUN dock and the lifeguard dock for about an hour and got skunked. the weather kept getting colder and colder so i decided to head home. When i get back i take a nap, and wake up at 9:00 to the sound of my phone ringing. Its my friend apologizing for passing out and flaking on me. he asks if i want to go fishing and i agree to go again but tell him i have to be back by three. but by the time i do a few chores, go to his house, watch a tape of him getting hypnotized at Knotts Scary Farm (funny stuff), drop off a friend, its already 12:30 and i decide its better if i dont go at all. So i hook him up with some tackle and he heads off to Pyramid while i go to my uncles birthday. The trout rumors i posted about yesterday turned out to be somewhat true. i just got off the phone with him and he said there was a school of nice sized trout (up to 20"s) right off the launch ramp. he tried kastmasters, minijigs and power bait on 6lb test and got skunked. even though the trout were following his baits, and lures (stubborn guy... doesnt use 2lb test for some reason). a group of other guys were catching limits on powerbait. the color of choice was that dull yellow color that looks like corn starch or something (atleast to me). also there were people catching bass up to 6lbs on live shad which were being snagegd on sabikis.
