#15162, "Stevens Creek and Arastradero Lake (late reports)"

I was able to get out and tube both of these lakes this past week.

Arastradero: This was my first time tubing it (ive only fished from shore before). As I was kicking out, immediately saw a large school 1/4 to 1/2 inch fry with nothing guarding them. I started flipping a baby bass senko around the tulles for nothing. I came to a large submerged tree and began flipping around it, and pulled up a 2.5 lber. I continued around the lake and came to another tree, this one smaller than the last. I got bit here too, this time on a white/gold flake senko. This one was 1lb 13 oz and really really fat (See picture below). Maybe a really small female ready to spawn? Im not sure if they spawn that small. I continued flippin around, and dropshotted out towards the middle for nothing more. I have a portable depth finder on my tube...for those that are curious the lake drops quickly to 9 feet in most places and then levels out and slowly drops to 11 in the middle. The south end is slightly deeper--13 feet

Stevens Creek: I began flipping around the cove just to the right of the launch ramp. Water was very clear (about 8-12 foot visibility). I didnt see any fish other than small bluegill. I fished all the way around that cove, to the first large point to the right of the ramp. I drop shotted all aroudn this point out to 45 feet, and didnt mark any fish at all until I reached 40 feet..probably not bass that deep this time of year. I kicked across the lake to the cove directly across from the ramp. I ended up getting two really small bass (about 9") each on a purple Ika. The whole time I did not see any beds, cruising bass, or fry. Does anyone know if they have spawned already or have any suggestions on where to search for beds?
