#13857, "El Cap 7/16 - 7/17"

Fished El Capitan Res. on Fri and Sat. Fri was a pre fish day or a small club tourney on Sat.

FRIDAY: Got on the water around 8:00 ran the shore line runnin and gunnin with a crank bait trying to locate some fish and only ended up with a 4# catfish Doh! ... Around 11:00 tried the windy points with Carolina and Split shot rigs. Metered lots of fish and ended up with 2 (about 14") Decided to call it a day and headed in with somewhat of a plan for tourney day

Saturday: Hit the water at first light and headed to a shore line that had lots of bait on it the day before. Started with a Pop-R and got 2 right off the bat, missed one other, Made another pass for 0 then tried wormin it for 0. The wind was starting to pick up around 10 so I moved on to the windy point thing and bam 2 more right in a row on the same rock (4" power black worm). but that was going to be it for the day from noon til 4 couldn't get a bite, even tried spoonin some deep fish which turned out to be the ticket for the winner. Anyways I ended up 5th out of 20 or so with just under 7#'s around 2#'s from the winner, Just needed 1 more fish.

Anyhow had a great weekend on the lake and am too sun burned to head to DVL tomarrow.
