#11206, "Double digit Bass"

I've noticed that the great majority of the Big-Bass specialty lures( Castaic Trout, MS-Slammer, etc.) aren't designed for fishing deep. Is this because most big bass are caught shallow or are they caught on the surface over deep water? I've never caught Bass over 10 pounds, but I have caught many between 8 and 10. All were caught smack on the bottom in 10 feet or less. My goal in late 2003 and early 2004 is to get above 12 pounds and possibly make the new world record.....I know? Y'all laughin' at me.
