#6480, "Hesperia Lake 10-27-02"

I thought it would be a good day to head over to Hesperia Lake. Rick and I got to the lake around noon, and I showed Rick all of the spots, since this was his first time to Hesperia. As we did the rounds we both noticed that the lake was kicking out some good quality fish, just as many big fish here as what we saw at Corona on Thursday. All of the big fish at both lakes seem to all have been caught on Power bait.

After getting a few bites we went back to the outlet. Some people had left the area, so we started tossing out some jigs. Some fish were jumping on the surface, and they were good sized fish, so I kept trying to keep my jigs up there. Rick on the other hand bounced his jig on the bottom and was getting some fish this way.

When we left at 3:30, Rick caught 3 trout up to 2 pounds, while I got skunked. First time in a while, but even though I got skunked, I got quite a few bites.

This lake has some good fish in it, and for $7 is a deal compared to Corona or Irvine.

Tight Lines,
Jason Huckeba
