Well i'm moving up the big fish ladder. I took off work a few hours early and headed out around 2:00. I headed out to the lake with two trout plug rods and a new Castaway spinning rod just to try out. When I got there it was still dark and cloudy, so I started right off with the 9" Slammer. It only took about 20 minutes and I had one in the 3lb range that I quickly released. About ten minutes later I connected with one and lost it soon after. It wasn't very big. Right about then the sun poked through the clouds and started to clear things up a bit. Two hours later with nothing to show for it and it was now clear as can be. I was getting discouraged thinking that I missed the oppurtunity and was actualy thinking about leaving. I figured i'd try one more spot that I like and then head in. I Made my way over and threw out the slammer and walked it back on top. Then I made another cast and cranked it faster to take it under a foot or so. I felt a hit, but actually thought I was hung up until I saw my line move to the side. It didn't take long before I had her in. I snapped a few pics, took the wieght and released her. She wieghed 8.8lbs for my new personal best. Well, i'll quit yacking and let you guys see the pics.
