Finally got to go Kayak fishing for the big dogs at WB!Got to the river/lake around 9:30 or so just as the lunch wagon (trout truck)was pulling away.Perfect timing!!There were quite a few fisherman around, mostly trout guys and a few plug tossers.

Me and my friend both tied on a 9inch slammer and decided to troll down past the marina a mile or so and work our way back up.Just go back and forth for a while and see if we hear or see any action.Hour or two goes by,not much of anything happening so we headed back towards the marina to take a break.I have the smaller and slower of the two kayaks and like usual was lagging far behind,so right as my friend was reaching land my pole doubles over.I'm on!I could barely get my pole from the holder with all the pressure and the fish just took off down river.I knew I was on my own to land this guy so I just hung on and tried to slow him down by turning my kayak sideways and dragging my feet and paddle off the side.Luckly they really only pull hard right at first and then you just have alot off weight to drag in against the current. But a nice fight, the fish went 20.6 with a descent belly, not the giant that I was hoping for but a good strong fish to start of with.Drug that guy behind me back to where we were parked and suprised the hell out of my buddy who just thought I was taking my time.Nope just wrangling a 20 off the troll!

Nothing for the rest of the day and night.Tried trolling and casting at boils. And there were some nice boils, sounds like someone dropping a bowling ball!Alot of action at night just no fish commiting to attack again. So we camped on the the river about a 1/2 mile down and try again early.

Woke up aroud 7:30 or so and started trolling back and forth with no luck.Stopped ocasionaly to take a couple casts and admire the beauty of that place!Steep canyon walls, blue skies and clear water.Truly a great place with all that and trophy fish!Anyway while casting up towards shore and doing a super slow retrive with the slammer I got blasted on right off the top and I'm on again.Luckly again the fish ran towards deep water and away from some submerged trees.Great fight again and got to see him run right under me in about 20ft of water with my bait stuck on the side of his face, what a sight!

So ended up with two fish, the last one going 18lbs.Can't complain much for my first time hooking up there, can't wait to go back and get some bigger guys. Can't say enough about the M.S Slammer, great action, great bait didn't tie on another bait the whole time!Hope to post some pic's later this week!!
