Made a quick morning trip to Chabot. Fished from 10am to 2pm in my float tube. I fished from the island up to alder and back down to the end of the burner. Post spawn conditions definitely. 1/2 to 1 inch long fry were balled up in likely areas. I didn't sight anything over 10 but did see 8 or 9 fish from 2 to 6lbs. I threw the 12" Slammer and the Mission Fish, mixing in the senko on tullies and trees.
My first bite came on a bare nothing bank on the Mission Fish and lo and behold I hooked and landed the fish. It was hooked from the outside of the mouth in. Don't now how the fish managed that one. It weighed 3-0. My next, and last, bite came in the sticks. I let that Mission Fish drop about 30 feet down in one of the trees and on it's way down it got smacked, but I didn't hook up. Had a few small followers after that but no other bites. I tried fishing really deep today a lot, between 10 and 40 feet but I never got bit out there.
In any case it was nice to catch a fish at Chabot. You can't ever complain about the fishing at Chabot if you catch at least one fish.
