#3864, "Irvine was WIDE !"

I fished on sunday and did really well on the trout. I caught all my fish on the troll with J7 Rapalas in black & gold. I caught them on top with no hits on the leadcore outfit. All the fish I graphed were between 15-35 feet deep but no takers down at that level. All the fish came on top. Weird. I caught around 24 fish counting and just did the beat & release keeping my five. The bass bite is really good shaking worms also. Try 8-12 feet of water for the bass. I graphed alot of fish off the fenceline on trout island - crappie I think, but could not get them to go. Two ten pound bass came out and Steve Walker from Cerritos got a 6 lb bass while I was there. I saw the picture of the 12lb Hybrid Striper (Wyper) and man is that fish a fattee. I saw a big dead bass with a crappie stuck in it's mouth, it was really cool. Water temp ranged from 61-65 depending upon depth and time of day. The motorcycle track is being held back with some dirt from the old road but it's days are numbered. Somone planted some structure off West shore in about 28 feet of water too - what is it ? The lake is basically barren and I knew of nothing there ? Those trout they put in fight big time. They easily rival the fish from Crowley and I put them up there with the Niguel fish as well. They all have full tails and jump like crazy. As a result, you loose some as well. Awesome fish. I can hardly wait till June and July when they all get pooled up near the damn. Biggest trout I got on sunday was 3.30 lbs and I got 2nd place in that trout thing they had.
