I was out there on Sat and fished in the rain as well. It was my first time there. As usual, I chatted with the local fishermen and was told the trout were hitting with flies earlier but later in the evening the trout just wasn't interested. So off I walked about 1 1/2 miles up pass the highway and saw a large amount of planted and wild trout. I must have thrown everything I had at them. Different jigs, flies, Mepps, Kastmaster and even resorted to my trusty rainbow Powerbait. The only thing I didn't threw was
dynamite. :-) I assume the trout had way too much pressure and have seen all the tricks in the books already.
I didn't catch Jack, except probably a cold from the rain.
I started walking back around 4PM and chatted with another fellow fisherman and was told he got skunked too. He told me that the further back you go, the larger the fish were and even wild, not planted. It’s about 4-6 miles upstream. No wonder I kept seeing people riding their bikes back there with their rods. But only catch and release allowed. Surely a lot less graffiti on the rocks and trees. Those trucks you see driving by on the road upstream are General Electric's employee. No cars allowed on that road, unless you're an employee.

Better luck next time. Regardless, my worst day fishing is better than my best day working. :-)
