As tough as the fishing's been for me and apparently others, I got a little payback on Sunday. Otay looked like the Virgin Basin at Mead! No kidding 30-40mph winds all day. The good news was I had two things going for me: a good map, and charged batteries.
My friend Jake Crawford and I graphed over some spots that looked interesting on the map. We didn't graph lots of activity, but it just confirmed that the bottom had some ledges, rocks, and features.
We continued to put about 17lbs of fish in the boat. Some solid 3s and close to 4 lb fish. The definitely looked like females--real fat and sassy!
I will be following these fish for the next few weeks until my tournament there. I could win with those fish.
