I am going to fish on Santa Margarita Lake tomorrow. I would really appreciate any tips from people who know how to fish there. I am a beginner. I live in SLO county (an in the USA at all) about a year and half and last half year I am trying to fish on Santa Margarita Lake. I tried fishing from a shore and from the docks but all I have got was small bluegills. I used meal warms and crawlers for bait. No lures or plastics worked for me. I tried to catch bass in the period from July to November about 10 times mostly in the evening. I tried to use Taxes and Carolina rigs with plastic warms, plastic frog, different lures, etc. - almost everything I read in the books and on the fishing boards. I have no idea what I am doing wrong (wrong places, wrong baits, just bad luck...) I don't know any fishermen in this area who can share their experience how to fish in SLO county lakes. Is it possible at all to catch something except small bluegill without boat on Santa Margarita?
