#17310, "Small Creek Big Bass"

There's a small country creek near my house that is severely under estimated for bass. There is a small number of people who fish this creek for catfish, and only a handfull of people that fish it for bass. Most people don't even believe me when I say there are bass here. Much less when I tell them I average 6-10 fish a trip, with my largest being just over 4 lbs. The average fish caught is about 1.5 lbs, anything over 2lbs is pretty good. This time of year, the water is shallow, murky and slow moving. The bottom is mostly clay with a lot of small pockets that drop about a foot deep, which make great ambush points. There is a decent amount of vegitation, small current in some areas. Does anyone have any tips on finding larger bass in an area like this? So far I've been having the best luck with small spinnerbaits, brushhogs, power worms and buzzbaits in the evening. I can catch a decent number of bass every trip, but I'm really wanting to hook into more of the 3-4 pounders. I've seen fish jump that had to be 5 pounds plus, so I have high hopes. if anyone has any tips, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
