Definatly use braid only. I've found every fish caught with mono goes deep into a fishes mouth injuring or even killing them. I have a five pounder on my wall cause it ate a frog with mono. I caught numerous fish with braid and never has it gone deep into the throat. Plus you have the pulling power to get them out of the weeds when they hook up......
