Took all three kids up to the east fork this morning to knock off all the dust bunnies from the rods after winter storage. I got up there in 47 degree weather and started sinking the old reliable salmon eggs and power bait. The water was very clear and it was easy to see the fish hangin in the holes. The catching wasn't so easy. They liked to chase the bait but wouldn't bite. I tied on the old reliable rooster tail and got bumped twice, but still no hookup. I switched to the black & red Mepps and finally landed a 7 incher. Later, got 2 more (7 & 9 incher) with the rooster tail and let the kids land them. Pretty slow morning in all, but always worth it!
