#14360, "long fishing report from 11/16-11/19"

Started out Tuesday morning at Castaic's west ramp. Got in at 5:55am while it was still dark .The Striper's and Lmb's were blowing up on the Shad. It was wide open until sunrise. I C&Red 1 Lmb that went around 5 #'s and farmed a Striper that look to be around 10 #'s . They both took a 1/2 ounce Bleeding Shad. I had no solid hits on the Huddleston I was throwing, just one short bite. The others fishing next to me were killing them with live Shad .I waited around until 10:30 for the Trout plant that didn’t show until the next day.

Wednesday I hit up the "Vine”. Lets just say that it sucked @ss .I went more than 3 miles in my tube and casted out my fly what felt like a hundred times for one Rainbow .They told us in the morning that they were going to plant today . As we were leaving my friend over heard two guys that work there talk about how they had not stocked the lake in about a month.

Thursday I went back to Castaic’s west ramp. The employees of the lake made sure they closed the gate behind them that morning. So I wasn't able to get in while it was dark. So by the time they us in (almost 6:30am) There were no Stripers or Shad to be seen. I threw the Huddleston for 30 mins for nothing. I then switched over to my fly gear and proceeded to target Trout .Caught a few and farmed a few too. I then packed up and went to Pyramid. No sign of Stripers, but there was a lot of Trout. Caught a few Trout and then called it a day at 10:30am.

Friday Hit up the west ramp again for some Trout and no Stripers. Some guy got a nice Striper on a live Shad, while the Stripers were in a frenzy killing some Trout. I then packed up and went back to Pyramid for some larger Trout off the launch ramp and wrapped it up at 11:00am. Also there were a few large Stripers cruising the shallows with the Trout.

I will give the West ramp a shot for some Stripers in the am.

Peace,
FishjunkeyOG
