Fished LMV for the first time this morning, saw a LOT of big blue gills and a good number of nice sized bass. Hooked up a lot of the little 5"ers on a mini jig but nothing I was throwing was getting any good sized fish.

Tried:
brown/orange jig and pig
orange creepy crawler
6" senkos/kut tails red flake, rainbow trout, motor oil, lemonade, pumpkinseed.(weightless, carolina, and texas)
drop-shotted 4" robos
cranked a few shad raps (silver and black)
grub tail jigs

Nothing worked..how do you hook up onto those bedding big blue gills and the bass in the shallows??? -Nate
