Well, today I caught my second significant bass (read 3+ pounds). I know that is not much, but it is my PB so far. When I unhooked it I saw that the poor thing had its mouth pretty beat up. It jumped 3 times not too far from shore and it even managed to cut the weed guard from my 3/16 jig head. The question is, what is better to have the drag set pretty loose so the fish doesn't pull so hard on the hook? or is it better to have the drag a little tight so the fish is not played too long?
