You keep mentioning deep bass in summer. Are you fishing a clear water lake that stratification may happen deeper than in most lakes? The reservoir I fish in the summer stratifies around 15'. Thats where you find the thermocline and most activity is limited to at the thermocline or above. My experiance is in summer bass are not deep unless you have clearer water where the thermocline forms deeper and then your possibilities are deeper. I also believe the oxygen levels in the warmer months of summer are shallower because of photosynthesis that plants convert oxygen. When a lake turns over in the fall that oxygen is now mixed with the lower layers of water and bass are able to proceed to the deeper depths because this also breaks down the thermocline.........BassMan
