I am not discounting what you said about "sun lice", the mark on the big fish could I suppose have been caused by something other than a hook, but the smaller male had a very fresh mark on it that gave every indication that a hook had been ripped across it's back. I just didn't get a very good picture of it. It was a very disgusting experience seeing those guys snagging the trophy fish in San Pablo, hopefully DFG will be writing some tickets come next weekend.
