#10549, "Sad, sad story!!!!!"

Well, it was last weekend w/ some friends. We went fishing the CA aqueduct at 300th St. For 1 of my friends it was his 1st time. I used an Abu Garcia rod & Shimano reel spooled w/ 10 lb. test. My most favorite set-up. :D We all fished w/ nightcrawlers. I was the only one who added some attractant. About 30 min. into fishing, I decided to set my pole down. I loosen some drag & brought it above the bank. I went to get some water & a huge rock to lay on the rear end of the rod to secure it from being pulled in. As soon as I got the rock I heard a scrapeing noise. I turned around & saw my pole being dragged to the water. Dropped the rock & ran to the rescue. About 2 inches from actually grabbing it, I almost fell in the damn water :o It was lost forever!!! ;( ;( I went back to my car & got my trout pole w/ 4 lb. test. I ended up catching a 1 lb. cat & 3 lb. striper. But, I didn't care any more x( I lost my favorite pole! I know it was MY FAULT COMPLETELY. I will never make that mistake again!:-( By the way, my friends got skunked. We fished for 3.5 hrs.
