Among all the brands of cheaper (like less than 40 dollar) scales, some scales will be good and some won't be. The only way to know if yours is good is to test. Take a gallon of water or some other 3 to 10lb object and weigh it on the produce scale at the grocery store. Weight it on several scales if you want. Then compare your scale. If it's way off, return it.
