#2781, "RE: Losing Fishing Partner Support Group" In response to In response to 0
I feel your pain. The reason I started dating my wife (during undergrad) was because she said she would take me fishing in a canoe in the lake in her backyard.
Well, we never even got out on that canoe. But we did do some kayakfishing while I was still courting her. She would even tie her own knots and everything.
Now, a year into this thing called matrimony, I can barely get time off with the boys to go fishing, let alone get her out on the water! If she agrees to go, that usually means one of her rookie friends has to tag along - which means for me a buttload of backlashed reels and lost tackle!
I'm sorry about your daughter's losing interest in fishing. Here's one guarantee though. When she meets some boy in the future, and he turns out to be an outdoorsman, you'll have not one, but two fishing buddies to keep you company!
