hi, i've just moved to the area for college and i was wondering what kind of action you're getting out on santa margarita? i really enjoy fishing but im not familiar with this lake. . could you give me the heads up on what type of fish are out there, what to use, etc? also if you know anything about pier fishing, any advice would be greatly appreciated. . thanks a lot!!

ah i see, thanks for the info! what kind of bait would i use and where would be the place to go for stripers. usually im using anchovies for bait fishing . . any suggestions?

Monterey Bay is about the Southern most point for consistant Saltwater Striper action, and that is only when they're here. As for your area you have some Awesome Halibut and White Sea Bass in that area or so I've been told. The Brian's and Rob on this board are good for info about that area and a laugh.

I would give the outlet area in Morro Bay a shot for the striped bass as well as WSB and halibut. They are there, you just need to put your time in against the waves and wind. Give her a try and tell us how it goes. Where in SLO are you located?

im located very close to cal poly. i'm living off campus at mustang village, which is like a 5 min walk to the school. sucks that i didn't bring my fishing equipment with me. hehe . .
