I'll be at BWW for sure, but I think the carp bite will be on the same day as Anglers deal.

after I brought my boat in to Anglers for service, and got it back with more problems then it went in with, You coulnd't pay me to go to that thing. I don't care who is speaking. Besides, who wants to push thier way through the tiny walkways to look at some gimick baits and new crap to that is designed to catch more fisherman than fish.
Aaron martins is better anyways!!

Sorry,
Just had to let off a little steam.
I think Aarons seminar will blow peoples mind, I've seen him speak before, a while ago, and he taught me more in an hour then anyone else has all my life. The guy is a machine. The best part about it is he finds the fish by himself. He doesn't have to hire a guide to show him the lakes. I think he must have been a fish in his past life or something.

Every time I fish an event and Aaron is - he takes my entry fee. Rightfully so. I agree, he must have been a fish in his past life :). I gotta admit, it is soo cool to see him school some of the good old boys. Plus, I will be able to harass Kevin and maybe get him out of the closet !

Mud Musky, you are right about Aaron, he is a machine- how did you get that handle? I tried to get it on my license plate but it was too big- Are you the man with the inside track to the infamous mud musky? SOmetimes they can be quite elusive, but I heard there are ways to get them to go, there is a pond in Leisure world that is full of them. I don't know if Vegas takes money for the next Classic champion, I'm sure they do, my money is on AM- plus he has the bass groupie girls that hang with his wife, that is good eye candy at the Classic.

It looks like I'm not the only one with some negative views about a boat/tackle dealer who will remain nameless in deference to Rob.
It seems that I see nothing but negative comments about this shop while all the ones concerning BWW are positive. I wonder if there is anybody with a positive view of this shop? I would be interested in hearing it. I'm not ready to give up on them entirely yet.
Let's get real. If it were your shop, how much would you care about selling a pack of Senkos after sending somebody home with a fully loaded rig?
I have to admit that I thought last year's Bass-A-Thon was really cool, but the seminars were really crowded(200+).
I went to Dave Nollar's seminar at BWW, and it was unbelievable. There were only around 25 people, and he gave away a personally marked up map of Perris to a lucky winner. I'll definitely be at BWW for Martens. Let's here it for BWW for listening to this page's contributors. Does anybody remember the poll about who we would like to see conduct a seminar? We said Aaron, and they got it done!!

They're on Tustin Avenue in Santa Ana. South of the 55 frwy and north of 17th street on the east side of the street. 2144 N. Tustin Avenue. I don't know the date. I was going to call them. They're number is (714)667-6006 (I'm looking at thier ad in WON.)

Hey Mad Musky, i too had the same problem with my boat, i took it in for it's 20 hr. inspection (which is a crock of...) and the Optimax has never been the same!!! It takes me 10 minutes to start the damn thing and i'm having a lot of problems. It's now at the Modern Mariner in Stanton getting the problem resolved, and their location gives me a good excuse to stop by Bass World West (it's only about 15 min. away) I'll definitely be at the Nov. 2nd & 3rd BWW sale!!!

Okay, here's all the info that's fit to print. The show will be Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday Nov. 3. Admission is free, doors will open at 8:30AM each day. We will have over twenty vendors there with new product to look at or buy, including a few items that will be huge next year(Whitmer-Rago Trout baits), ask Swimbait about those..LOL.
Tim Horton, Aaron Martens, and John Murray will give seminars each day, and on different topics each day. Check Western Outdoor News next week for a complete show schedule, or call me at the shop 714-667-6006 and I'll give you any additional info you need. Hope to see a lot of you guys there.

To be honest Brian, I don't know. Mickey has not been supplying us with any product at all right now. He is concentrating on his Japan market, and rumor has it that his new creation won't be out in the U.S. until the Bass-A-Thon at Anglers. Some people are really concerned about what new products will debut at which show. For me, I really don't care. If some manufacturers want to hold their new product until the "bigger" Bass-A-Thon show rather than having them at our Bass Blast, that's their decision. I think it is a mistake, because the hard-core anglers that will spend up to $30 for a bait will be at each show. I also think that seminar speakers like Aaron Martens will be able to discuss and promote big baits a hell of a lot better than someone like Rick Clunn. The Whitmer-Rago Trout will definetly be a big seller, and it would be great to see two new big baits tested head to head in the casting pond, but it probably won't happen despite numerous talks with Mickey.
P.S.- The Whitmer-Rago bait won't be at the Bass-A-Thon, the manufacturers decision, not ours.

Chris, can you suggest a good rod to throw the BIG trouts with? I bought the bigbait Lamiglas at last year's Fred Hall's. It throws the Osprey OK with a Calcutta 400S, but I don't think I want to throw anything heavier with it.
My teenager has been saving his money for Bass-A-Thon, but he was stoked when he saw your ad in WON last night. We'll be there for at least 1, maybe both, days. We'll probably both be taking a Whitmer-Rago home.

Everyone at BWW was at Anglers at one point or another including myself. They even have a guy that worked for us over there now. As far as this thread becoming a commercial for BWW, I like the fact that people are excited about both shows. If I were not involved with either store, I'd definetly go to both shows, wife permitting, to see all the free information and new products. I think it is a great thing for our sport to have competitive stores, it helps to keep pricing down for the consumer and both shops are all about promoting our sport and helping anglers. I like having the ability to do shows like this. Believe me, these shows are a killer in terms of overhead and advertising. What makes them feasible is to help highlight anglers, such as Aaron, who have become stars from bass fishing and give them a forum to share their expertise to a local audience. This kind of spotlight can help to promote tournament fishing here in the West, making it easier for others in our area to make a career out of tournament fishing or to just learn some valuable information from a pro who fished the same waters we do now. As to Bass Weekly, I love what Jan is doing there and appreciate his contribution to the tournament fishing community. His show again helps to promote anglers and our sport as a whole to the mainstream. We'd love the chance to work with him, so keep listening.
